Touring Club Italiano launches digital map of Italian beauty

The Touring Club Italiano has launched an interactive digital map called 'Passione Italia' to promote Italian cultural heritage during the COVID-19 crisis. The initiative counters the 'contagion map' by offering daily virtual tours of landscapes, art cities, coastal areas, mountains, and villages. Content draws from the Green Guides Touring, journalist insights, and historical photo archives. Users are invited to share personal anecdotes and images on social media. Highlights include a Milan itinerary by editor Stefano Brambilla featuring Santa Maria presso San Satiro (with Bramante's trompe-l'œil) and San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore (the 'Sistine Chapel of Milan' with 16th-century frescoes by Bernardino Luini's circle). Brambilla also recommends Abruzzo, including L'Aquila's basilicas of Collemaggio and San Bernardino, and trabocchi fishing machines on the Chieti coast.
