Tothi Folisi's Contemplative Residency at La Serpara
Tothi Folisi (born 1979 in Sant'Agata di Militello) was invited by Cantieri d'Arte for a residency at Giardino La Serpara in the Viterbo area. The project focuses on contemplative engagement with the landscape, echoing Andrea Zanzotto's concept of an 'interior phenomenology'—a recovery of archaic images of places through epiphanic regression. Folisi created a small oasis within a hazelnut grove at the garden's edge, using a tent as a ritual space. The installation includes ritual elements and the artist's presence, attempting to record the frequency between natural and human time. The residency took place in May 2016, curated by Marco Trulli as part of Cantieri d'Arte's program promoted by Arci Viterbo.
