Torre GalFa in Milan Opens GAD Gallery on 25th Floor
Torre GalFa, a skyscraper designed by architect Melchiorre Bega in the second half of the 20th century, has been reborn after acquisition by Gruppo Unipol. Located on the axis between the historic Pirelli tower and the recent Palazzo della Regione Lombardia in Milan, the building now hosts GAD – Galleria d’Arte Domestica on its 25th floor. Conceived by Crudemon and curated by art critic Luca Cantore D’Amore, the gallery presents exhibitions within a domestic suite, offering an intimate atmosphere and panoramic city views. The concept reflects the final destination of artworks after purchase by collectors and enthusiasts. The 2024 exhibition program opens with Marco Tamburro (born Perugia, 1974) and his show Attraverso. Tamburro’s works depict protagonists as helpless puppets in a tangled system of strings, metaphorizing the human condition. Curator Cantore D’Amore states that Tamburro translates universal themes into symbolic language, attracting attention from institutions like the Venice Biennale and MAXXI in Rome. Upcoming exhibitors include Marco Nereo Rotelli, ahead of his tenth Venice Biennale, followed by Luna Berlusconi and two other names to be announced. The gallery runs from March to December, aiming to present contemporary art in a freer context, breaking down barriers among critics, gallerists, and dealers.
