Torino to Host New International Photography Festival Starting Spring 2023

In the spring of 2023, Turin, Italy, will host a new International Photography Festival, a venture initiated through a protocol among several organizations, including the Region of Piedmont, the City of Turin, the Chamber of Commerce of Turin, Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione CRT, and Intesa Sanpaolo. This annual event seeks to position Turin as a photography hub, leveraging its historical significance as the site of Italy's first photograph taken in 1839. The festival will feature exhibitions, a fair, educational programs, and artistic commissions, with Fondazione per la Cultura Torino overseeing the organization. A search for an artistic director will commence, with notable contributors such as Dario Gallina, Massimo Lapucci, Walter Guadagnini, and Michele Coppola. The festival will partner with CAMERA and The Phair, which is set for May 5-7, 2023.
