Torino's Luci d'Artista expands with summer solstice performances and special lighting
The public art initiative Luci d'Artista in Torino, which emphasizes light, is undergoing a transformation under the direction of curator Antonio Grulli, who took on the role in summer 2023. Since its inception in 1998, the project has showcased over thirty installations from renowned artists such as Jenny Holzer and Daniel Buren. Grulli's vision includes evolving it into a 'Museum of Light' for continuous engagement. A summer solstice celebration, starting in 2024, will take place again on June 21, 2025, at GAM's Arena Paolini, offering free admission. Highlights include Canemorto's 'I Tarocchi del Sole Fermo' and Marcos Lutyens' 'Equilux ≈ Equinox: Un Viaggio Psico-Magico,' along with a dialogue featuring John Yau and Nicola De Maria. From June 21 to 24, special lighting will showcase various artists' works, with Grulli planning future international collaborations.
