Torino's Book Fair Week Sparks Independent Art Events

From May 18 to 22, 2017, Torino will be alive with various cultural happenings, including the Salone del Libro, Salone Off, and the first-ever Narrazioni Jazz festival, reminiscent of the art buzz during Artissima in November. The Carlina on stage event in piazza Carlo Emanuele II is reopening after a two-year facelift, transforming into an urban theater with two big screens displaying content from NESXT network partners, as mentioned by Annalisa Russo from Artesera, who is working alongside Olga Gambari and the VANNI occhiali Autofocus competition for young artists. Meanwhile, Adelinquere arte contemporanea at 515 via Mazzini is showcasing two unique "volumes" by Diego Scroppo, highlighting his journey through the independent subculture and rave scenes. Cavallerizza Reale will also host the second edition of Here, celebrated as "the largest independent artists' exhibition in Torino," featuring installations, performances, talks, concerts, and a live book creation project by the small publishing house Leggermente Fuori Sede, established in January 2016 by a group of artists.
