Torino museums launch AI-powered app I-Muse to connect collections

digital · 2026-04-27

In Turin, eight museums have introduced I-Muse, an innovative app that employs AI to link artworks from different collections. This app was unveiled at MAUTO during its 90th anniversary celebration. It proposes cross-museum visits based on similarities, such as connecting a 12th-century BC statue from Museo Egizio with Luigi Ontani's 1987 piece at GAM. The initiative involves collaboration with the University of Turin and the Polytechnic University of Turin, with backing from Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. Created alongside Synesthesia and Garycom, I-Muse is accessible on both iOS and Android platforms. Users can scan QR codes to build customized itineraries. The pilot, organized by Club Silencio, is part of 'Una notte al Museo,' aimed primarily at those under 35. Participating institutions include Reggia di Venaria Reale and Museo Egizio.
