Torino launches permanent film tour with 20 multimedia stations across the city
A new permanent film tour called 'Girando per Torino' has opened in Turin, featuring 20 multimedia stations across the city center that document the history of cinema shot in the Piedmontese capital. Curated by Film Commission Torino Piemonte and the Museo Nazionale del Cinema, both celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, the tour covers films from the silent era to recent releases. Each station, designed by Studio Loredana Iacopino Architettura and realized by Fargo Film, includes seating inspired by the Mole Antonelliana's Aula del Tempio and screens video clips with commentary by Steve Della Casa and Efisio Mulas, hosts of Radio Tre's Hollywood Party. A paper map and a section within the Italy For Movies app, launched last year by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, complement the experience. The tour highlights ten key films: 'Cabiria' (1914) at Porta Susa station, 'Addio giovinezza!' (1940) at Piazza Carlo Alberto, 'Le amiche' (1955) at Piazza San Carlo, 'Guerra e pace' (1956) at Castello del Valentino, 'Un colpo all'italiana' (1969) at Piazza Gran Madre, 'La donna della domenica' (1975) at Piazza della Repubblica, 'Profondo Rosso' (1975) at Piazza CLN, 'La meglio gioventù' (2003) at Piazza della Consolata, 'Dopo mezzanotte' (2004) at Mole Antonelliana, and 'Il Divo' (2008) at Via Garibaldi. The initiative aims to revive Turin's cinematic heritage and attract visitors to film locations.
