Torino launches International Culture Exchange at Lingotto

The city of Turin, Italy, has approved the creation of the Borsa Internazionale della Cultura (International Culture Exchange), a unique event in Europe set to take place in October 2017 at the Centro Congressi del Lingotto. The exchange aims to bring together museums, art foundations, private collectors, and investors, functioning as an international culture hub where supply and demand for culture meet. Preparatory work will begin in the coming weeks with contributions from the Fondazione Torino Musei, state museums, and private foundations such as the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and the Fondazione Merz. A preliminary mission to Chengdu, China, is planned, where representatives of the city's historical archive will present the event at the MCT-Expo, a major museum fair organized by the Chinese Museums Association. The announcement comes amid other developments in Turin's cultural scene, including ongoing changes at the Salone del Libro and the upcoming Artissima fair, as well as the appointment of Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev to lead the GAM-Rivoli institutions.
