cultural-heritage · 2026-04-27

The Polo del '900 in Turin commemorates the second anniversary of Maestro Ezio Bosso's death on May 14, 2020, with a series of events from May 14 to 16, 2022. Bosso's family recently donated his archive to the Istituto Gramsci, now housed at the Polo del '900 as the Fondo Ezio Bosso. A small exhibition of archival objects from Bosso's homes in London, Bologna, and Turin opens to the public for free, centered on "The 12th Room," his first piano solo album that earned a Gold Disc in 2016 and a classical music tour with over 100,000 spectators. Polo del '900 director Emiliano Paoletti stated the archive reflects Bosso's musical talent and civic engagement, aiming to inspire young people. On May 14, a piano concert by Francesco Mazzonetto (born 1997) in the Polo's courtyard features pieces from "The 12th Room," accompanied by a thematic workshop for youth selected via call, with participation from Catterina Seia, who worked with Bosso during his residency at Opera Pia Giulia di Barolo. The Ezio Bosso Days conclude on May 16 at 9 PM with a concert by the TRT Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Michele Gamba at Teatro Regio di Torino, performing Bosso's compositions and works he championed. Bosso's family expressed that the anniversary is difficult but they embrace his philosophy of turning a problem into an opportunity, welcoming the archive's opening and the youth-focused day.
