architecture-design · 2026-08-20

A transformation of Concordia Square, a 1,000-square-meter public space located in Bogotá's historic La Candelaria district, is scheduled for completion by 2025. The initiative, named 'Topographies of Encounter,' is spearheaded by AR-AR Martínez Arquitectura y Paisaje, along with architect María Paula González Bozzi. Valentina Díaz curated the design, while Carlos Alberto Martínez Valencia led the architectural team, which includes Código Proyectos and Andrés Posse Peña. This square, rich in heritage, serves as a vital meeting place for students, locals, and tourists, thanks to its closeness to Colegio La Candelaria and the entrance to Chorro de Quevedo. Project photography was captured by Juan Piñeros.
