Top 5 Stands at ARCOmadrid 2017

ARCOmadrid 2017, held in Madrid, Spain, is a mid-level international art fair and a key gateway to Latin America, as well as Spain's premier cultural event. The fair features a personal selection of five standout booths. At Javier López & Fer Francés, highlights include works by Jan Fabre, Peter Halley, David Salle, and a wall of drawings by Alex Katz. Hauser & Wirth presents a compact booth with sculptures and photos by Roni Horn, along with works by Lee Lozano, Anna Maria Maiolino, Louise Bourgeois, Guillermo Kuitca, and a metal mesh piece by Monika Sosnowska. Filomena Soares offers a solo exhibition by Carlos Motta, using photos, postcards, and stones to tell the story of Native Americans in Arizona and New Mexico, timely given the political climate. Persano shows two golden sculptures by Susy Gómez and large canvases by Mario Merz and Nicola de Maria. Esther Schipper features a fluorescent, space-themed booth with works by Liam Gillick, Thomas Saraceno, Ann Veronica Janssens, Ryan Gander, and Francesco Gennari.
