Tommaso Frattini's 'Dov'è Dio' Transforms Sacred Space in Magnano

Tommaso Frattini, a young artist born in Tradate in 2002, currently living in Milan and studying at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, presents his second exhibition in the Magnano area, a place he holds dear due to his early exhibition experiences. The project, titled 'Dov'è Dio' (Where is God), is the result of a ten-day artistic residency and engages with the Church of Santa Marta in Magnano, which remains consecrated and used for worship. Frattini's work confronts religious imagery, questioning its dynamics and symbols. He transforms the traditional devotional experience, which involves the faithful traversing a longitudinal path from the nave to the apse, a journey that holds symbolic and metaphorical value as man's path toward the divine. The church becomes a spiritual itinerary, a space of progressive closeness to the sacred. The exhibition is part of the Gen Zeta series, highlighting the work of emerging artists. Frattini's exploration is driven by the question 'Where is God?' which he has discovered in art and in everyday encounters. The project is a dialogue between contemporary art and a consecrated space, offering a fresh perspective on faith and spirituality.
