Tommaso Calabro Opens Venice Space with Harold Stevenson Show
On April 16, 2024, Tommaso Calabro will open his new gallery located at Palazzo Donà Brusa in Campo San Polo, coinciding with the preview days of the 60th Venice Biennale. The opening exhibition will showcase the works of American artist Harold Stevenson (1929–2018), highlighting pieces created from the late 1950s through the 1970s. Stevenson, who had the backing of gallerist Alexander Iolas, participated in eleven solo exhibitions organized by Iolas between 1972 and 1984. In 1962, he also presented his work at the Piccola Biennale in Venice. Among his significant pieces are Eye of Lightning Billy, which was acquired by MoMA in 2008, and The New Adam. The exhibition will be available for viewing until July 27, 2024.
