TOMAV: A Contemporary Art Hub in the Marche Province

The TOMAV (Torre di Moresco Arti Visive) is a contemporary art center located in the small medieval town of Moresco, in the Fermo province of the Marche region, Italy. Housed in a 12th-century heptagonal tower within the historic center, it was established in late 2010 by the municipal administration and is directed pro bono by Andrea Giusti, a former gallerist from Ancona. The center aims to provide democratic access to culture while maintaining high curatorial standards, avoiding the pitfalls of many provincial municipal spaces that cater to amateur artists. Its inaugural exhibition featured a solo show by the late Tino Stefanoni, followed by works from established names such as Mimmo Rotella, Biasi, Dadamaino, Simeti, Wilding, the Transavanguardia group, Ubaldo Bartolini, conceptual photography from the 1960s-70s, and Maurizio Cesarini, alongside emerging artists like Eron, Daniele Bordoni, Jacopo Casadei, Rudy Cremonini, Sergio Marcelli, and Marco Puca. Upcoming winter programming includes a site-specific project titled "Pure Graphite" by Riccardo Angelini starting December 15, and a performance by Maurizio Cesarini. The center serves as a cultural beacon in the Sibillini Mountains area, attracting gallerists, museum directors, tourists, and locals alike.
