Tobias Rehberger's Gems and Ladders Jewelry Debuts at Design Museum London
Tobias Rehberger, a German sculptor, recently presented his new artistic jewelry collection for Swiss brand Gems and Ladders at the Design Museum in London during a two-day event. Alongside Rehberger, around forty pieces from notable international artists, including Carol Bove, Claudia Comte, and Jean Dubuffet, were also featured in the exhibition. Gems and Ladders, founded in 2014 by Swiss collector Thomas W. Bechtler and Alexander Pertot, focuses on creating handcrafted jewelry in Switzerland. Rehberger's collection includes three rings called YES, MAYBE, and NO, made from gold, silver, or bronze, with a unique paint that reveals the metal beneath over time. Doug Aitken, an American artist and recipient of the Frontier Art Prize, is set to create the next Gems and Ladders collection, launching in June 2018.
