Tobias Putrih's 'Slight Agitation 1/4' Opens at Fondazione Prada
Fondazione Prada in Milan presents 'Slight Agitation 1/4', the first in a four-part exhibition series curated by its Thought Council, featuring Slovenian artist Tobias Putrih. Born in Kranj in 1972, Putrih creates site-specific installations that engage viewers physically and perceptually, with political and social undertones. The exhibition, on view until January 22, 2017, occupies the Cisterna space with three works from 2016: 'Exchange', 'Recollection', and 'Obfuscation'. 'Exchange' invites visitors to move bricks between two plywood and cardboard theaters, fostering interaction. 'Recollection' pits touch against sight. 'Obfuscation' is a labyrinth of semi-transparent polycarbonate panels that can be reconfigured, acting as a 'gentle trap'. Putrih, who represented Slovenia at the 2007 Venice Biennale, has previously exhibited in Rotterdam, Zurich, Paris, Eindhoven, and Venice. The series will continue with Pamela Rosenkranz, Laura Lima, and the collective Gelitin.
