TŁO Translates Polish Sobota into Solar Canopy for Concéntrico 2026

architecture-design · 2026-07-26

In June 2026, Logroño, Spain, will host its twelfth Concéntrico festival, featuring a unique temporary structure called Los Sábados, crafted by the Warsaw-based design firm TŁO. Inspired by the Polish sobota, a traditional pilgrim shelter, this canopy is designed to provide relief from heat. Constructed using reclaimed insulated panels and new wood, it is supported by steel rods that ensure the integrity of nearby historic buildings. Located adjacent to an old tobacco factory, the installation includes seating made from local stone kerbs. After the event, all metal elements will be stored and the stone kerbs returned to the municipal depot.
