Tiziana D’Acchille concludes six-year tenure as director of Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma
Tiziana D’Acchille has concluded her second and final term as the head of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, a prestigious institution established in the late 16th century. As the first female director, she facilitated an increase in student enrollment and modernized the academy with a focus on international outreach. D’Acchille organized various masterclasses and events featuring numerous artists. An alumna of the academy from 1987, she previously led the Galleria Comunale di Ciampino. Under her leadership, the academy was recognized by the European Commission as one of 17 European Universities and reestablished its presence in Rome’s cultural scene. She aims to introduce English-language programs and reform Italy’s AFAM system, aspiring to evolve the academy into a 'University of the Arts' before resuming her teaching and research career.
