Tiziana Alocci's 'Frequencies of Belonging' Lights Up Genoa's Torre Piacentini

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Digital artist Tiziana Alocci has unveiled 'Frequencies of Belonging,' a multimedia installation on Genoa's Torre Piacentini. The project, inaugurated on April 11, 2025, combines an immersive indoor experience on the 30th floor with a public display on the skyscraper's rooftop screen, visible from Piazza de Ferrari. Alocci launched an open call on social media asking 'What is a house made of? How are places linked to memories?' and collected voice messages from participants. These responses were transformed into a multisensory installation blending texts, voices, and images to explore contemporary notions of home and belonging. The work is presented by Nexus, a digital platform founded by curator Pietro Cattai and Edoardo Rossi, which has been hosting exhibitions on the tower since 2024. Cattai stated that Nexus aims to be 'a living space for reflection on technology's role in daily life.' The installation runs twice daily until May 12, 2025, on the rooftop screen, while the indoor component is accessible at Terrazza Colombo.
