Titian Masterpieces Dialogue at Galleria Borghese in Rome
On June 14, 2022, Galleria Borghese in Rome opens 'Dialoghi di Natura e di Amore', a dossier exhibition centered on Titian. The show is prompted by the loan of 'Nymph and Shepherd' (1565) from Vienna's Kunsthistorisches Museum as part of a cultural exchange. This painting dialogues with Titian's works in the Borghese collection, including 'Sacred and Profane Love' and 'Venus Blindfolding Cupid', displayed in Room XX. Other pieces join the conversation: Marco Basaiti's 'Adam and Eve', two more Titians ('Christ at the Column' and 'Saint Dominic'), and a late derivation of a lost Titian, 'Venus, Cupid and a Satyr'. The exhibition runs until September 18, 2022.
