institutional · 2026-05-20

The estate of Kim Lim, a British Singaporean sculptor and printmaker, will now be represented in the U.S. by Tina Kim Gallery. This June, the gallery plans to showcase Lim’s work at Art Basel, followed by a solo exhibition in New York in spring 2027, marking her first solo show in the United States. Axel Vervoordt Gallery will maintain its representation of the estate. Lim was born in Singapore in 1935 to Chinese parents and spent her early years in Malaysia before relocating to London in 1954. She studied under Anthony Caro at Saint Martin’s School of Art and later at the Slade School of Fine Art, cultivating a multidisciplinary approach over four decades, utilizing stone, wood, metal, and printmaking, with a focus on abstraction, seriality, and materiality.
