Timothée Chalamet Transformed into Art on Instagram by Fan Accounts
Two Instagram accounts, @chalametinart and @chalametwearsart, have gone viral by photoshopping actor Timothée Chalamet into famous artworks and dressing him in art-inspired outfits. The first account, active from 2018 to January 2019, amassed nearly 90,000 followers by inserting Chalamet's face into masterpieces like Caravaggio's "The Lute Player," Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring," and Courbet's "The Desperate Man." The anonymous creator stopped posting after 38 images. In February 2020, Sabrina (surname withheld) launched @chalametwearsart, inspired by Chalamet's denim overalls by S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA, the brand of artist Sterling Ruby, worn during a promotional tour for "The King" in Busan, South Korea, in October 2019. Sabrina's account photoshops Chalamet's clothing into artworks, starting with Vincent van Gogh's "Irises" on February 6, and including pieces by Gustav Klimt, Paul Cézanne, Takashi Murakami, and Yayoi Kusama. Both accounts operate "just for fun" and do not claim ownership of the images. Chalamet, born in 1995, rose to fame after playing Elio Perlman in Luca Guadagnino's 2017 film "Call Me by Your Name," based on André Aciman's novel, which won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
