TikTok star Emanuele Aloia launches art-themed album at Uffizi Gallery

On World Art Day, April 15, 2021, TikTok star Emanuele Aloia performed his single 'Romeo e Giulietta' in the Sala della Venere at the Uffizi Gallery, surrounded by Botticelli's masterpieces. The 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Turin engaged in a dialogue with Uffizi director Eike Schmidt, streamed live on both their TikTok accounts. Schmidt emphasized the synergy between ancient and contemporary art, noting that 'the contemporary gains from the ancient and the ancient gains from the contemporary.' Aloia's debut album 'Sindrome di Stendhal,' released by Sony, features 13 tracks referencing artists from Botticelli to Banksy and writers like Nietzsche. His previous singles 'L'urlo di Munch' and 'Girasoli' achieved gold status, while 'Il bacio di Klimt' went double platinum and ranked #20 on FIMI Italy's 2020 best-selling songs. Aloia has amassed over 92 million streams and 68.5 million views, with more than 400,000 TikTok videos created using his music. Paul Hourican, Head of Music Operations TikTok Europe, praised the collaboration as a creative fusion of music and art, highlighting TikTok's role as a platform for discovery and sharing. The Uffizi Gallery launched its TikTok account just one year prior.
