Tiffany Sia's 'Phantasmatic Screens' at Mudam Luxembourg explores exile through sculptural cinema

Running until 11 January 2026, Tiffany Sia's exhibition 'Phantasmatic Screens' at Mudam Luxembourg delves into themes of transnational imagination and visual culture. The showcase highlights two significant pieces: 'The Sojourn' (2023), which revisits the filming locations of King Hu's 1967 classic 'Dragon Inn,' and 'Antipodes III' (2024), which displays images of Kinmen through a rear-view mirror. Born in Hong Kong in 1988 and currently residing in New York, Sia has gained international recognition, winning the Baloise Art Prize 2024 and the George C. Lin Emerging Filmmaker Award (2022). The exhibition prioritizes sound over subtitles, challenging traditional viewing experiences and connecting with contemporary artists like Hito Steyerl and Cao Fei. Contributions from Baloise and works by FELIX GAUDLITZ and Maxwell Graham are also part of the display.
