Three Women Artists Debut at New Museum in New York
At the New Museum in New York, three solo exhibitions by female artists are being showcased for the first time at a museum in the city. Marta Minujín’s 'Menesunda Reloaded' revives her 1965 immersive installation, which includes a maze of rooms, a makeup area, and a mirrored space engulfed in confetti. Mika Rottenberg presents 'Easypieces,' featuring the video 'Cosmic Generator,' which connects a Chinese eatery on the US-Mexico border to a wholesale shop in Yiwu, China, along with 'Spaghetti Blockchain.' Lubaina Himid’s 'Work from Underneath' highlights new pieces that confront the lack of representation of people of color in the art world. The exhibitions are on view until September 15 (Rottenberg), September 29 (Minujín), and October 6, 2019 (Himid).
