Three Summer Exhibitions in Friuli-Venezia Giulia: Tobia Ravà, John Robinson, Shigeru Mizuki
Three exhibitions open this summer in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. At Palazzo Sarcinelli in Conegliano, Tobia Ravà's solo show 'Tikkun Olam Riparare il mondo' presents over 100 works from the 1970s to today, including graphics, sculptures, paintings, resins, and acrylics on canvas. The title references a Hebrew concept of art as conscious action for improvement. Ravà uses gematria, a system where Hebrew letters correspond to numbers, creating a pictorial magma that invites viewers to look beyond appearances. The exhibition runs until June 15. In Venice, John Robinson's 'The Shed' at Galleria 10 & zero uno is a performance-installation featuring a wooden shed where tarot readings and memory evocations take place. Robinson's paintings depict suspended figures, transparent faces, and restrained gestures in earth tones, blending classical portraiture with contemporary imagery. The show runs until July 19. At Casa Cavazzini in Udine, 'Mondo Mizuki, Mondo Yokai' is the first Italian retrospective of manga artist Shigeru Mizuki (1922–2015), known for exploring yokai (supernatural beings from Japanese mythology). Curated by Vincenzo Filosa with Canicola and MIZUKI PRO, the exhibition presents 100 original plates, many exhibited outside Japan for the first time, alongside reproductions, books, magazines, audio, video, and merchandise. It runs until August 30, organized in conjunction with the 27th Far East Film Festival.
