Three Spring 2024 Exhibitions in Sardinia
Three exhibitions in Sardinia this spring celebrate diverse artistic practices. At The Social Gallery in Quartu Sant'Elena, "An Artist's Abstract Season" honors Sardinian painter Mirella Mibelli (d. 2015) with 12 informal works from the 1980s, curated by Roberta Vanali in collaboration with the Archivio Mirella Mibelli and the Municipality of Quartu. The show runs until May 25, 2024. At Galleria Siotto in Cagliari, "Con estrema cura" presents new paper works by Giulia Atzeri, curated by Alice Deledda, blending painting and writing in an introspective exploration of obsessions and resolution, on view until May 19, 2024. At the Airport Library in Cagliari Airport, Nino Corona's photographic project "Specchi d'acqua" documents the Sulcis region and the Sant'Antioco salt pan, curated by art historian Gianni Murtas, until May 31, 2024.
