Three Photography Exhibitions Explore Industry and Labor in Emilia

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Three photography exhibitions in Emilia, Italy, examine industrial labor and its spaces. At Corte Ospitale in Rubiera, Linea di Confine per la Fotografia Contemporanea presents 'Centrali logistiche alimentari' by Michele Borzoni and 'Corpi e macchine' by William Guerrieri, part of the JOBS project investigating new forms and spaces of work in central Emilia. The project won the Strategia Fotografia 2020 call promoted by the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea of the Ministero della Cultura. Borzoni focuses on logistics in the agri-food sector, while Guerrieri addresses industrial work and technological changes, emphasizing human-machine interaction. The exhibitions also feature works by seven participants of Guerrieri's photography workshop 'Corpi e macchine al lavoro'. At the Laterlite plant in Rubbiano di Solignano (PR), the exhibition 'LUCE NATURALE' curated by Daniele De Luigi pairs Gabriele Basilico's 1983 photographs of the plant with Luca Santiago Mora's images taken between 2017 and 2020. Basilico's work documents industrial space and machinery, while Mora's 'Windows' project shifts focus to what the factory sees around it: people, vehicles, materials, and nature. The Mora photographs will remain in the Laterlite spaces after the exhibition. The exhibition is part of the Imprese Aperte program for Parma 2020+2021.
