Three Off-Radar Venues to Discover at the Venice Biennale 2026

exhibition · 2026-05-22

In addition to the primary venues at Giardini and Arsenale, the 61st Venice Biennale showcases intriguing collateral events. Argentine artist Leandro Erlich's 'Hybrids' (with FAI) is on display at Negozio Olivetti, a Carlo Scarpa-designed site in Piazza San Marco, featuring around twenty pieces that merge nature, architecture, and the human form—such as butterflies with ear-like wings and coral that mimics city skylines. Meanwhile, the newly opened AMA Venezia, located in a renovated soap factory in Cannaregio, will debut its exhibition 'AURA' from May 5 to November 22, 2026, showcasing works from artists like Ed Ruscha and Tino Sehgal. Additionally, at Palazzo Bragadin Carabba, 'Lettera' is launched by Elena Re and Giulia Colussi, featuring young talents and a book series from PRINP Editoria d’Arte. These events emphasize the Biennale's commitment to fostering artistic dialogue beyond conventional spaces.
