Three Must-See Exhibitions in Venice This September
Despite the challenges of the pandemic and the record acqua granda in November 2019, Venice's cultural scene has shown resilience. Three notable exhibitions are currently on view. At Ocean Space (Chiesa di San Lorenzo), 'Oceans in Transformation' by Territorial Agency (founded by John Palmesino and Ann-Sofi Rönnskog) presents a multimedia installation using data from international researchers on climate change and human impact on oceans. The show runs until November 29, 2020, and includes talks with scientists, artists, and government groups. At Galleria Michela Rizzo, Brian Eno and David Tremlett exhibit together for the first time. Tremlett's site-specific work uses pigments applied by hand, while Eno creates light installations with algorithmic color variations. The exhibition also features two collaborative pieces and is open until November 21, 2020. At Marignana Arte, Lorenzo Passi's 'Forgiato nel ferro, soffiato nel vetro' showcases his glass and iron sculptures, highlighting his training at Murano's Archimede Seguso and Zanetti, and the Nuutajärvi Glass School in Finland. The exhibition runs until October 24, 2020, during the Venice Glass Week.
