Three Janez Janšas Reunite at Spazio Gamma in Milan

exhibition · 2026-05-04

The exhibition 'Un, uno, una' by the three artists all named Janez Janša, curated by Francesca Lazzarini, moves from MLZ Art Dep in Trieste to Spazio Gamma in Milan. Originally presented in Trieste until May 28, the Milan iteration adapts the same documentary path to the new space. Since 2007, the three Slovenian artists have legally changed their names to that of the conservative politician Janez Janša, literally adopting his party slogan 'The more we are, the sooner we will reach the goal.' The project explores media overlap, confusion between dystopia and reality, and depersonalization of identity politics through photos, documents, and videos. The three artists, now united by public moments and private memories, continue to triple themselves.
