Three exhibitions to see in Lugano in June 2022

At MASI Lugano, five exhibitions are currently on view across its three venues, including a selection from the permanent collection. The conceptual irony of Marcel Broodthaers and the photography of James Barnor have already been covered in detail. Here are the other three shows. At Collezione Olgiati, 'Vedo rosso' runs until June 12, using the color red as a pretext to explore its expressive and symbolic meanings. Works include pieces by Clemente, Paladino, Kounellis, Calzolari, Raysse, Depero, Sosno, Durham, Dorazio, Marca-Relli, Guyton, Walker, Gastini, and a Yves Klein. At LAC, 'Dal vero' is a research exhibition on 19th-century Swiss photography, featuring daguerreotypes, albumen prints, and painted retouching, with interactive display cases. At Palazzo Reali, 'Una raccolta d'arte moderna italiana' (until January 29, 2023) presents 30 works by six Italian modernists from Ca' Pesaro, focusing on the interwar period: Campigli, Sironi, Scipione, Manzù, Carrà, and Rosai.
