Three exhibitions closing November 11 in Milan, Mestre, and Bari

Three exhibitions are closing on November 11 across Italy. At Galleria Mimmo Scognamiglio in Milan, Chinese artist Silia Ka Tung presents works blending Lewis Carroll's Wonderland with Chinese traditions and video game aesthetics like Super Mario and Animal Crossing. Her practice uses ink, paper, embroidered fabric sculptures, and references to traditional Chinese medicine. The exhibition is titled 'MINDLESS' and invites viewers to abandon logic. In Bari, Gaetano Fanelli's solo show 'L'eccezione alla regola – Lampante' at Museo Nuova Era, curated by Lorenzo Madaro, features triangular slate slabs with geometric incisions and a black disc recalling Richard Serra's drawings. The installation plays on the concept of exception to the rule, while in the hypogeum, 550 handmade white paper modules cover the walls and the word 'Lampante' references the ancient Apulian tradition of lamp oil production. Fanelli has collaborated with gallerist Marilena Bonomo, Biagio Caldarelli, and Mimmo Conenna. In Mestre, Meghan Shawnee Littlewood's exhibition at LAMB focuses on her mastery of green, linking to Venetian painting tradition from Giovanni Bellini and Giorgione to Paolo Veronese, Mariano Fortuny, and the recent Biennale Teatro 'Emerald'. Her works feature animals, nature, and Orientalist influences, exploring symbols like the serpent and the Great Mother.
