Three Exhibitions Celebrate Jorge Zalszupin's Centenary in São Paulo

exhibition · 2026-04-23

In São Paulo, three exhibitions honor the 100th birthday of Polish-Brazilian architect Jorge Zalszupin, who was born in Warsaw on June 1, 1922, and will run until early September. 'Orgânico Sintético: Zalszupin 100 Anos' is displayed at Museu da Casa Brasileira (MCB) and Casa Zalszupin until September 4. Curator Giancarlo Latorraca presents Zalszupin's industrial creations from L’Atelier (1959–1988) at MCB, featuring the Eva utensil collection and various architectural designs. Casa Zalszupin showcases his organic residential works, including never-before-seen sketches and photos by Nelson Kon. A third exhibit at Galeria Teo, overseen by Teo Vilela Gomes and Claudio Novaes, displays 40 original works until September 3. Zalszupin fled anti-Jewish persecution, arriving in Brazil in 1949, and passed away in August 2020.
