festival-fair · 2026-04-20

In response to pandemic challenges, three prominent biennials have unveiled their artist rosters alongside structural adjustments. The Kochi-Muziris Biennale is set to occur from 12 December 2020 to 10 April 2021, with curator Shubigi Rao revealing around 25 artists, including Yinka Shonibare, Ali Cherri, and Zina Saro-Wiwa. Titled 'In Our Veins Flow Ink and Fire,' the event aims to highlight a variety of artistic expressions under different circumstances. Meanwhile, Bangkok Biennial 2020 has modified its format to span from October 2020 to October 2021, divided into three phases with breaks of four to five months. EVA International will commence its 39th edition on 18 September 2020, focusing on land and contested values in modern Ireland through three stages until 2021. Phase 1 will be active until 15 November 2020 across various locations in Limerick city. Each biennial exemplifies strategic planning amid global unpredictability.
