Three Artists from Scuola di Piazza del Popolo on Show in Naples
Galleria Andrea Ingenito in Naples presents works by Franco Angeli, Tano Festa, and Giosetta Fioroni, three masters of the Scuola di Piazza del Popolo, the Italian Pop Art movement that flourished in Rome during the 1960s and 1970s. The exhibition, titled 'La Dolce Vita a Napoli,' focuses on their output from those decades, a period marked by recognition at the Venice Biennale. Fioroni, born in 1932, is the only surviving member of the original group of four (including Mario Schifano, who is concurrently showing at Gallerie d'Italia in Naples). Gallerist-curator Andrea Ingenito, who has long worked with Fioroni, selected the works to celebrate Naples' current cultural and tourist revival. The show also highlights the artists' bohemian lifestyles in Fellini-era Rome, where they gathered at Bar Rosati and exhibited at Galleria La Tartaruga. Concurrently, the gallery is expanding its program: on May 20, it inaugurated a site-specific installation by American artist Dalya Luttwak at Laghi Nabi in Castel Volturno, and on May 27, it presented works by Alfonso de Angelis (Trallallà) at Fondazione Mario & Maria Pia Serpone in Rome, alongside pieces by Kounellis, Nitsch, and Paladino.
