Three Artists at Spazio 22 in Milan: Esposito, Middlebrook, Pepperstein

Spazio 22 in Milan hosts a group exhibition featuring Bruna Esposito, Jason Middlebrook, and Pavel Pepperstein, curated in collaboration with Galleria Pack and Galerie Iragui. Bruna Esposito (Rome, 1960) presents two projects: one new and one revisiting familiar themes. Her installation includes fish-eye photographs on the walls, creating cosmic black hole-like effects with iridescent edges, and a central piece made of bamboo brooms with bells, evoking a sonic forest. Jason Middlebrook (Jackson, Michigan, 1966), selected by Galleria Pack, shifts from figurative to abstract materiality, painting relief-like skins on wooden boards that invite touch, with geometric lines forming labyrinths or ideal maps. Pavel Pepperstein (Moscow, 1966), chosen by Galerie Iragui, presents "A History of Futuristic Hallucinations," featuring irreverent works that depict historical figures—from ancient Romans to Neanderthals—in unsettling moments where visions of a distant future open before them, blending past and future, image and word, drawing and painting.
