Three architecture exhibitions at Teatro dell’architettura Mendrisio explore images, space, and knowledge
For its autumn 2025-2026 season, the Teatro dell’architettura Mendrisio is set to feature three exhibitions, curated by Gabriele Neri and Francesco Zanot, along with a student project from Riccardo Blumer. “Reality Show” by Stefano Graziani examines architectural photography through innovative installations that incorporate Gio Ponti chairs, dancers, and fireworks. The exhibition titled “Archisatire. Una controstoria dell’architettura” presents a critical perspective on architecture using caricatures and photomontages, organized into four segments that explore architects as icons, urban disputes, domestic satire, and architect-cartoonists, including a notable depiction of a female architect from 1910 in a large kitchen. Additionally, “Due esercizi” features student works: “ruote campanarie” on the upper level and “articolazioni mobili” on the ground floor. These exhibitions are supported by the Accademia di architettura dell’Università della Svizzera italiana.
