Three Apps for Centenary Anniversaries, from Dante to Aida
Three mobile apps have been developed to commemorate major 2021 anniversaries through interactive technology. 'In viaggio con Dante' marks 700 years since Dante Alighieri's death, guiding users through Tuscan UNESCO World Heritage sites with the poet's voice, augmented reality, and quizzes. 'Aida and the magic run' celebrates the centenary of the Arena Sferisterio opera festival in Macerata, featuring an 8-bit retro game where children help Aida collect golden scarabs while avoiding obstacles to the tune of Verdi. 'Histars' expands its original Moscow-based Pokémon Go-style game to Paris, St. Petersburg, and London, allowing users to take selfies with historical Russian cultural figures, including a section on Napoleon for his anniversary.
