Thomas Bayrle's 'Form Form SuperForm' at Pinacoteca Agnelli Explores Consumerism Through Pixels

The 'Form Form SuperForm' exhibition at the Pinacoteca Agnelli in Turin showcases the work of German artist Thomas Bayrle (born 1937 in Berlin), under the curation of Sarah Cosulich and Saim Demircan. This solo display includes more than ninety pieces created since the 1960s, examining themes of mass production, consumer culture, and repetition. Bayrle employs his 'superforme' technique to create striking images from basic units. Additionally, the exhibition features the third installment of 'Beyond the Collection,' which includes works by Lucy McKenzie (born 1977 in Glasgow) and is curated by Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti. Four new installations by Bayrle, Shirin Aliabadi, Julius von Bismarck, and Alicja Kwade adorn the Pista 500 path. Bayrle's ties to Lingotto date back to the 1970s, with notable pieces like 'BfG Accordo commerciale (Agnelli)' and 'Giovanni Agnelli di iPhones' (2023).
