Third Edition of Driving Energy Prize Focuses on 'The Invisible'
The third edition of the Driving Energy Prize, dedicated to contemporary photography, has been launched. Organized by Terna, Italy's national electricity grid operator, in collaboration with the Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, the prize invites professional and amateur photographers to explore the theme 'La via dell'invisibile' (The Path of the Invisible). Submissions are free and must be submitted by June 30, 2024. The jury includes Francesca Barbi Marinetti, Micol Forti, Rosa Alba Impronta, brothers Fabio and Damiano D'Innocenzo, and David Massey. An Honorary Committee composed of the five winners from the previous edition will award one prize. Categories include Senior, Giovani, Menzione per l'Opera più votata da Terna, Premio Amatori, and Menzione Accademia. Winning works will be exhibited in October at Palazzo delle Esposizioni. The prize, initiated in 2021, has grown in popularity, receiving thousands of entries from across Italy. Curator Marco Delogu noted that 2023 confirmed the prize's success, and 2024 closes the three-year cycle, solidifying the partnership between Terna and PalaExpo. Terna President Igor De Biasio stated that the theme reflects the company's mission to make power lines less visible, creating sustainable infrastructure in harmony with the environment.
