After eight years at Meta, Weiyao Wang has transitioned to Thinking Machines Lab (TML), an AI startup that recently landed a multibillion-dollar cloud partnership with Google for access to Nvidia's GB300 chips. This deal, revealed at Google Cloud Next, positions TML alongside Anthropic and Meta in terms of infrastructure. TML has been actively recruiting from Meta, bringing on board Soumith Chintala, co-founder of PyTorch and now TML's CTO, who departed Meta in late 2025. Other former Meta employees joining TML include Piotr Dollár, Andrea Madotto, and James Sun. In turn, Meta has recruited seven founding members from TML.
