Thierry Konarzewski's ENOSIM at Cartec, Cagliari

At Cartec in Cagliari, Thierry Konarzewski presents 'ENOSIM Il posto delle anime,' a photographic series exploring abandoned waste on San Pietro Island, Sardinia. Curated by Raffaella Venturi, the 27 photographs depict figures like warriors and ghosts emerging from trash, accompanied by a sound installation. Konarzewski, born in Benin in 1960, has documented debris since 2009, noting exact locations to track changes. Works include 'Monaco Guerriero,' found July 17, 2012, later destroyed, and 'Fratelli di sangue' (2015), linked to the Paris Charlie Hebdo attacks. The artist avoids post-production, only enlarging images, to highlight pollution as a mirror of civilization. The exhibition runs at Cartec, a cave-like space, enhancing the animistic presence rooted in Konarzewski's childhood in a Benin village.
