Thérèse Henry releases debut album 'Aimant Si Passion' with Sunside concert
Thérèse Henry, who has spent thirty years as a bassist for various artists, has released her debut album 'Aimant Si Passion', which has been available since late May. She will perform at Sunside on June 9. The album showcases her unique style of 'mélan-comiques', which combines clever lyrics with rhythmic elements. Accompanying her in the quartet are Thierry Vaton on Rhodes piano, Fabrice Thompson on percussion, Cédric Baud handling guitar, sound, mixing, and mastering, and Alain Debiossat on soprano saxophone. A self-taught bassist, Henry later honed her skills at the conservatory in Paris's 17th arrondissement. In the late 1990s, she was part of Rumbanana, an all-female salsa and Latin jazz ensemble. Her collaborations include renowned artists such as Takfarinas and Imany. Additionally, she established Djazil, a collective that fuses tropical and jazz influences.
