There is no place like home wins Artribune Prize at Nesxt Independent Art Festival

The collective 'There is no place like home' from Rome won the Artribune Prize during the Nesxt Independent Art Festival in Turin. The prize includes a double-page spread in the Focus section of the January issue of Artribune Magazine. The 2017 edition of Nesxt abandoned its headquarters in via Quittengo to spread across the city, involving over forty venues including galleries, bookshops, theaters, music stores, and temporary spaces. The board selecting the spaces comprised Lorenzo Balbi, Serena Carbone, Pietro Gaglianò, Olga Gambari (artistic director of Nesxt), Andrea Lacarpia, Elena Motisi, Roberta Pagani, and Marco Scotini. The project 'There is no place like home,' curated by Giuliana Benassi, engaged with the artist condominium viadellafucina16 in Porta Palazzo, involving common spaces and residents in performances and installations co-signed by Josè Angelino, Calixto Ramirez, and Justin Randolph Thompson. An honorable mention went to Caffè Internazionale, a Palermo space run by Darrell Shines, Stefania Galegati, and Davide Ricco, which brought its blend of music and visual arts to Turin's Quadrilatero Romano and previewed an educational branch with students from Liceo Artistico Caravaggio in Milan.
