Theon Design creates bespoke Porsche 911 restomod for Mexican architect's collection
Theon Design, a UK-based company specializing in Porsche 911 restorations and modifications, has completed a unique commission called MEX001 for a Mexico-based architect's collection in South America. This bespoke vehicle blends a 964-era Porsche 911 chassis with carbon fiber body panels and a rebuilt 3.8-liter flat-six engine producing 407bhp. The car features a distinctive color created by combining Nato Olive Green and Underberg Porsche tones, achieving a vintage appearance with contemporary shimmer. Weight reduction of 325kg compared to the original enhances performance, while design elements include a carbon fiber ducktail spoiler reminiscent of the 1973 911 Carrera 2.7 RS, Fuchs-style wheels, and a subtle racing stripe. Interior details feature Recaro seats with Liquorice and Saddle Brown leather paired with houndstooth inserts, structural carbon fiber elements, and a dashboard with machined billet aluminum components. Technology is minimal, incorporating a Bluetooth audio system with a Focal-powered amplifier and a hidden reversing camera feed. Each Theon Design commission requires approximately 6,000 hours to complete, with production limited to six vehicles annually, starting from £430,000 excluding additional costs. The company's approach integrates modern performance with classic aesthetics through meticulous craftsmanship.
