Theodora wins five Flammes awards, Gims named male artist of the year

Theodora, a 22-year-old Franco-Congolese singer and composer, dominated the fourth edition of the Flammes awards in Paris on Thursday, winning five trophies including Female Artist of the Year. She also won Album of the Year and Best New Pop Album for "Mega BBL," a 2025 reissue of her debut project "Bad Boy Lovestory" featuring collaborations with Juliette Armanet, Chilly Gonzales, and Jul. At La Seine Musicale, she addressed victims of domestic violence, saying "Don't forget you can leave, the door is open." Theodora had previously won Female Revelation at the 2025 Flammes following her hit "Kongolese sous BBL." Gims, the most streamed artist in France in 2025, won Male Artist of the Year. His evolving album strategy for "Le nord se souvient : L'odyssée" earned him the Best Album Launch Strategy award. Gims, 39, was absent from the ceremony due to a recent indictment for aggravated money laundering in an international laundering network investigation. Hamza's trap hit "KYKY2BONDY" was named Song of the Year. Other winners included singer Fallon (RnB and bouyon fusion) and trio L2B, who performed at Accor Arena. The Flammes were created by digital media Booska P and creative agency Yard to highlight artists underrepresented at the Victoires de la Musique, though this year's winners partially overlapped with Victoires recipients.
