Thea Djordjadze and Fausto Melotti at Triennale Milano
At the Triennale di Milano, a unique installation by Georgian artist Thea Djordjadze and Italian modernist Fausto Melotti (1901–1986) has been curated by Lorenzo Giusti and Edoardo Bonaspetti. Titled "Abbandonando un’era che abbiamo trovato invivibile," the exhibition is located in the first-floor hall of Giovanni Muzio's building. Djordjadze (born 1971 in Tbilisi) incorporates large French windows that invite natural light to engage with her creations. The display includes twenty-one of Melotti's "teatrini," spanning from "Il diavolo che tenta gli intellettuali" (1939) to "Il passo della zingara" (1983), alongside nine pencil-on-paper drawings. Djordjadze's metal sheets and structures enhance Melotti's sculptures, crafting a theatrical experience that extends beyond the stage and enriches imaginative aspects.
