The Wall Between Us: Vietnamese Diaspora Exhibition at MA*GA

The exhibition titled 'The Wall Between Us' is running at MA*GA in Gallarate until January 9, 2022. It explores the experiences of the Vietnamese diaspora through the context of the Berlin Wall. Curated by Ottonella Mocellin and Nicola Pellegrini, it features works from artists of Vietnamese descent, such as Van Bo Le Mentzel and Jacqueline Hoàng Nguyễn. Originating from SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin, the exhibition includes a mix of video installations, symbolic shirts, and 'Ghost Tapes.' Standout works feature sand sculptures by Nguyễn, photographs by Ngô and Trương paired with Congressional records, Vo's letter, and Pham's 'Wiedersehen.' The four-channel video shows Mocellin and Pellegrini conveying letters to their children's biological mothers, emphasizing the project's political relevance, as highlighted by Agudio.
